Families in the military generally have to move either from one base to another or even between countries an average of once every two years. Given that relocation is always a big upheaval, families in the military can find it difficult to cope and deal with having to constantly be packing and unpacking their possessions. The first thing you need to do is to organize a meeting with your current base’s transportation office. You will be provided with a number of forms during this meeting that need to be filled in so that the staff in the office can process all of your details correctly allowance, and other possible financial benefits. You will also be provided with information about the two possible methods of military relocation. One of these methods is that the transportation of your household goods is handled by the government, with the other option being the DITY method. The latter option entitles you to a 95% reimbursement of the cost of government moving services to help with your moving expenses.
