Your new command will ensure that you are assigned a sponsor to help you with your move. It may be that you do not hear from your sponsor regarding your military relocation; in this case, it is fine for you to contact them. If you are unsure how to go about this all you have to do is contact your new command and ask for your point of contact.

It is a good idea when you are making a military move to check out the website for the new command, if there is one. There should be plenty of information on there to help you to make decisions regarding your move that will save you both time and money.

It is particularly important to make contact with your sponsor if you are going to be moving overseas. The sponsor will be able to help you to adjust to life in a new country and make recommendations about how to handle the move; for example, is it a good idea to relocate all your furniture? The sponsor will be able to offer you advice on this and numerous other questions you may have.
