Georgia can be a great place to raise a family, but did you know that there are pockets within the state that are even better than others? One town in particular is a wonderful place to raise the kids – Varnell, Georgia. Ever heard of it? We hadn’t either. But, apparently it is a great place to move with the kids.
What makes Varnell, Georgia so great for raising a family? First of all, you don’t have to deal with all that big city craziness meaning that you can just focus on the community and family. The population of Varnell is a mere 1,480 which means it is a great place to move if you want to experience real small town charm.
In fact, the town is small in every sense of the word. Perhaps the population is so small because there isn’t a whole lot of space for families to move in – the town actually measures about 2.5 square miles. The median family income isn’t as small, though – $69,404 which is about average for the country.
Despite its small size, Varnell does have its own schools – two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school that are all part of the Whitfield County School District. Oh, and the kids won’t get bored with plenty of parks and trails just minutes from the Nob North Golf Course (where mom and dad can take a break!)
If Varnell is too small for you to consider relocating, another great town for kids is Leesburg. Check them out as you do your research!
