You might also want to consider the region of Miners Mills. With prices lower again, both for purchase and for rental, this neighborhood could be ideal for those on a budget. Miners Mills is a suburb of the city and most of the properties here are owner-occupied. This is a neighborhood for those who want a slightly older property, with most dating back to before 1939. There are not a lot of vacant properties here and there is a high demand; therefore, you will need to start looking as soon as possible. With a range of small family homes and townhouses to choose from, this neighborhood is ideal for families and couples.
A number of people have been moving to Wilkes-Barre in search of work, and thanks to the regeneration schemes in the city there have been more opportunities lately.
