If you have ever moved from one house to another, chances are you remember what it is like to physically pack it all up and relocate. However, have you ever moved to an entirely new city or state? A lot can go into moving to Las Vegas. Here are some tips and tricks to make the whole relocation process a little less stressful.
Before you actually start packing or even hire the moving company, you should do a little research about Las Vegas before you move. It is a good idea to write some basic questions down, so you have a starting point. Here are some ideas:

- Are there any Las Vegas publications available?
- Which moving company in my area is the best to use to move to Las Vegas?
- Which schools are the best for my kids?
- What is the best way to get to Las Vegas?
- Are there any good neighborhoods near where I will work?
- Do I really want to move to Las Vegas?
As you compile your list of questions about Las Vegas, you can continue to do research on your new home state. When you make a shortlist of the different neighborhoods you might consider moving to, make a pros and cons list for each. Primary concerns would include the distance to your new job, distance from your children’s school, and the proximity to things like hospitals, restaurants and other locations you might be interested in.
After you’ve done some research and chosen a couple of neighborhoods you are interested in relocating to, generate your moving plan. Make a list of important Las Vegas phone numbers and websites of companies in the area. Do an inventory of your belongings. Will you move with everything or will you have a garage sale? Obviously, before you move you should make sure that you have a home ready to go! No one wants to arrive in a new city without a place to move into. So, before you move but after you’ve done your research, take a trip out to Las Vegas and do some house hunting. Remember, you don’t have to buy a house right away – you can always rent something in the interim.
Once you’ve found a place to live in Las Vegas, it’s time to hire the moving company. If Las Vegas is a significant distance from your current home, hiring a moving company may be your best bet. Decide what you will be moving with you and let the movers handle the rest!
