Speaking of Facebook, did you know Presidential hopeful Ron Paul uses the social networking site in a very unconventional way? Sure, he uses it to post updates on his campaign, but do you know how else he’s used it?
The congressman decided to use Facebook to list his house a couple of months ago. Yep, you heard us! Ron Paul wants to move out of his Lake Jackson house and into another abode, so he listed the details of the property on his Facebook wall.
This makes sense, if you think about it. Back in 2008, Paul used Facebook, Twitter and other social media to raise money for his then presidential campaign. He also used it to build an entire organization. Whether we agree with Paul’s political views or not, we think he is pretty savvy to say the least!
While Facebook isn’t a hub of real estate transactions, the use of social media in the real estate industry is quickly growing. Many people who want to move into a new house use social media and smartphone apps to locate potential new homes.
We think using Facebook to sell a house is a really cool idea. Ron Paul has more than 320,000 Facebook fans, so we think he has plenty of potential buyers. Who wouldn’t want to move into a presidential candidate’s house?
Paul listed his 5,500 square-foot, four-bedroom, five-bathroom house for $325,000. It also has a pool, a large office with plenty of built-in bookshelves, and a two-car garage. We think it is interesting Paul wants to move – he’s lived in the house for more than 42 years.
