Construction crews have put the final touches to the brand new Scottsbluff Public Schools Administration building. As a result, employees were able to begin the move into their new offices as of Monday.
Lavon Hood, the director of finance for the administration, says that the ongoing process to refurbish the old building, which is located at 1722 First Avenue and was donated by Roger and Connie Frank to the Scottsbluff Schools Foundation, began five months ago in May. Hood says that everyone who has been involved in the project has been wonderful, singling out Off Broadway Business Products for special praise for being the firm that met the needs of staff by designing the layout of the building.
“They were fabulous,” Hood says. “They helped us design how it was going to look and they did a really nice job, especially with the front area, and they got us some furniture when we needed it.”
In addition to providing furniture, Hood notes that construction crews were also finishing up the trim between the wall and the carpeting, which adds a nice touch. “The carpet guys are here and they are finishing up (Monday) putting in some of the trim work and I think that’s going to come along quite nicely. Then they will start working on the back area and the basement where we will put the training and learning.”
Admin employees have been making a slow relocation into the new building since last week.
