The Arizona Renaissance Festival is taking place in Gold Canyon for the 27th consecutive year. Every Saturday and Sunday from now until the end of March you can go along and find out more about renaissance times. The festival includes plenty of re-enactments, craft shops and a variety of entertainments.
More than 2,000 actors will be taking part in the event. The festivities start at 10am and run until 6pm each day, with tickets starting at $12. You can also opt for a season pass and there are special prices for groups and seniors; therefore, make sure you ask about all the ticket prices before purchasing.
The festival covers an area of 30 acres and is filled with plenty of opportunities to learn more about the renaissance period. Events during the festival include a jousting tournament and rides and there is the opportunity to see a living fountain and spend time in one of the pubs. Every day you can choose from 150 different shows and activities. Why not try an authentic beer or mead, or pick up a few bargains at one of the crafts stalls?
Getting to the festival is not an issue and you do not have to pay for parking. This is one of the most popular events in the Arizona calendar; therefore, make sure you get your tickets as soon as you can and turn up early to avoid the crowds, as people come from all over the state to take part in the festival.
