A private medical firm located in Bury in St Edwards is preparing to shift its head office so that it will be better situated to realize its ambitious plans for expansion. RehabWorks Ltd provides rehabilitation and injury management services and has submitted plans for a change of use for a part of New Shire Hall, which is situated in Raingate Street in Bury, to St Edmundsbury Borough Council.
The firm, which specializes in mental health and musculoskeletal disorders, would gain a 50% increase in space as a result of the move to the ex-council registry office, which has been standing empty now for two years since 2010. If the submission proves to be successful, it will be the third relocation to bigger premises in the firm’s history, which began 25 years ago, in 1987, in Maynewater Lane before shifting to offices in Guildhall Street prior to a move to its current location in Angel Hill.
“RehabWorks continues to go from strength to strength and this opportunity to move into another historic building has come at an opportune time,” says the chief executive officer of RehabWorks Ltd, Andy Holdcroft. “This move will allow us more office space for our staff whilst allowing us the space to create a larger gym for our clients.”
Agent Rapleys LLP submitted the plans two weeks ago, which include a call center, board room, toilets, a gym with three consulting rooms, pod offices, IT room, reception, and in-house catering facilities.
